University of South Carolina Press and University Libraries Launch Open Carolina, an Open Access Publishing Platform

The University of South Carolina Press, in partnership with the University of South Carolina Libraries, is delighted to announce the launch of Open Carolina, an open-access publishing platform. This online collection contains books, reference materials, and soon journals, that anyone with an internet connection can download and read for free.

High-quality, peer-reviewed academic resources are often only available to people who can access them through an educational institution that pays for materials through ongoing membership fees. Thanks to financial support from the University of South Carolina Libraries, USC Press joins a growing number of university presses making new and backlist materials written by a diverse pool of authors, available to a wider audience.
